Walter George Criswell was born on 22 Nov 1869. He was the son of Theodore F. Criswell and Arrimba Green. The family lived in Christian County, Missouri. By 1880, the family had moved to Greene County, Missouri.

Walter married Eddie E. Devin on 29 Mar 1893 in Canadian County, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). Eddie was the daughter of Edward H. Devin and Mary Eliza (Jarnagan) Criswell.

In 1900, Walter, Eddie, and their daughter, Lucile, lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1910, they lived in St. Joseph, Missouri, where Walter worked as general agent for farm implements. They moved to California in 1916, where he was northern manager for the Harvester International Company.

Walter's wife, Eddie, passed away in 1923. He married Mrs. Cecile (Nichol) Faget on 21 Sep 1926 in San Francisco.

Walter passed away on 04 April 1942 in San Mateo County, California. He was interred next to his first wife, Eddie.

Walter Criswell, 72, a retired executive of the International Harvester Company, died at his home 146 West Third Street, San Mateo, yesterday, after a short illness.

Mr. Criswell came to California in 1916 as northern California manager for the company and retired in 1930.
