"Albert L. Shipp"
LOMETA ? Services for Albert "Al" L. Shipp, 70, will be at 2 p.m. today at Lometa Church of Christ with the Rev. Darnell Boyd officiating. Burial will be at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa.
Shipp died March 19, 2004, in Lometa.
He was born May 4, 1933, in Brown County, the son of Albert W. Shipp and the former Gladys Carruth.
Shipp grew up and attended school in Blanket.
Shipp owned and operated Llano Automotive and worked in the oil industry. While living in Bangs, he owned an oil company.
He married the former Bernice Huggins on June 12, 1954, in Bangs.
Shipp enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of Lometa Church of Christ.
Shipp's life was devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Melinda Manning of Llano, Glenda McKneely of Cherokee, Brenda Virdell of Fredericksburg, and Paula Gola of Hutto; his son, Randy Shipp, of Lometa; his sister, Bobbie Sims, of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildrenand; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Childrens Home or to the Lometa Church of Christ."
