Chester was the son of William Peter and Apolonia Potok Gizara. Chester worked as a plant control analyst for Ford Motor Company, receiving the Ford Motor Company Citizen of the Year Award in 1959. He attended Russell Sage College in Troy. He was a member of Apollo King Solomon Masonic Lodge and the Apollo Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, both in Troy, N.Y. His long-time community service with Uncle Sam's Council for the Boy Scouts of America was an important part of his life. Chester and his beloved wife of 65 years, Jennie (Jean) Gizara, were members of Church of the Ascension in Troy. His survivors include his wife, Jennie E. (age 92); sons William A. of Port Charlotte (formerly of Westford, Mass.) and Thomas A. Gizara (Jeanne) of Valatie; and daughter Carol A. Harlow (George D. Harlow, deceased) of North Greenbush, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
