Elbert "E.A." Adams, 82, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Born September 5, 1923 in Java, VA to Lacon & Ola Adams, E.A. was a loving & devoted husband, father, grandfather & friend. He retired from the US Navy after 19 years of service and from NADEP after 22 years of service. He was a member of Naval Lodge #4 in Washington D.C., the Morocco Temple & the Scottish Rites here in Jacksonville. Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Agnes Harvey Adams; brother, C.F. Adams; sisters, Anna Custis & Ruth Morton, he is survived by his wife of 9 years, Barbara H. (Compton) Adams; sons, Larry Adams (Marilyn) & Barry Adams (Beth); step- daughter, Rollene Ricci (Ray); 11 grandchildren, Robert (Sandra), Nathan, Stephanie, Jonathan, Jewel, Montie, Russ, Sage, Caetee, Emme & Sam; great granddaughter, Isabella; daughters-in-law, Carol & Charline and many family & friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2006 at TOWN & COUNTRY FUNERAL HOME, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Burial in Riverside Memorial Park will follow. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
