Emma was the daughter of Isaac T. Bean and Nancy A. Boone. Emma's parents were married August 4, 1847, in Cherokee, Texas. Her grandfather was Peter Ellis Bean,* an early Texas scout. Her father, Isaac, was one of the organizers of Texas Masonry and was a farmer.
Emma lived in Dallas many years, but she also lived in Houston. She was survived by her daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Budleson of Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Cornelia Epperson** of Nolandville, Texas; and a brother, Joseph Bean of Moffat, Texas.
