Obituary:

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Red River Baptist Church for Robert L. "Bob" Bumgardner, of 401 1/2 Barksdale Blvd. in Bossier City who died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the Barksdale Hotel after a brief illness.

Mr. Bumgardner was a native of Linton and a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish. He was a former member of the Bossier Parish Police Jury and had retired as a bus driver for the Bossier Parish Schools.

The Rev. James L. Sermons, pastor of the Red River Baptist Church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Lay Cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral Home.

He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Dalrymple of Benton, Mrs. Gladys Birdwell of Bossier City and Mrs. Claudia Boylston of Houston, Tex., and one brother, Harry Bumgardner of Medade.

Pallbearers will be Norwood Dalrymple, Lyman McKinney, John R. Birdwell, Marvin Bumgardner, Russell Birdwell, Robert W. Moreland, Guy Wise and Dr. Hal Boylston. The pallbearers are all nephews of Mr. Bumgardner.

The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the services.
