COLORADO CITY ~~ Jay Dement, 54 of Colorado City died Friday in Veterans Hospital in Big Spring after a short illness. Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Oak Street Baptist Church.
The Rev. Bill Hatler will officiate. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Born July 30, 1920 in Big Spring he moved to Colorado City 10 years ago where he ran a wrecking service and body shop. He married Peggie Bassham in 1952 in San Angelo. He was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church and an Air Force Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include four daughters, Sheri D'Ann Hollis of Snyder, Kelli Dement of the home, Donna of Lubbock and Dixie of California; a son, Jay Bob Dement of the home; two sisters, Mrs. B. C. Krehbiel of Roswell, New Mexico and Mrs. Morris Robertson of Big Spring; a brother, Bobby of Big Spring.
