Betty Crouch Marks, the daughter of Arthur L. and Annie (Johnson) Crouch, was born 28 Jan 1908 in Troy, Pike County, Alabama.

On 25 May 1926, Betty married William Gerald Marks before a Justice of the Peace in Tampa, Florida. They were married just shy of 53 years when she lost her beloved husband.

Betty was one of those mothers who always had an open door where her childrens' friends were concerned. One of those young boys used to come in and help himself to the contents of her cookie jar; later he married her daughter.

A long-time member of the Manassas Garden Club and also the Calfee Garden Club of Culpeper, she shared her talent and love of gardening. She was a member of the Culpeper United Methodist Church and the Alma Bragg Circle of the church, in Culpeper, Virginia. She also loved painting, sewing, and ceramics.

She passed on Thursday, 1 Jul 2004, leaving two children, seven grandchildren, plus greatgrandchildren and extended family who loved her dearly.
