Eva L. Acuff, age 87, of West Frankfort, IL. departed this life Sunday, November 9, 2008, in Herrin Hospital. She was born November 20, 1920, in West Frankfort, the daughter of William Andrew and Emma Blanche (Julian) Evans. Eva was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting and her dogs. She married Lavern Dorris on July 3, 1937, in Paducah. He died May 31, 1983. She later married Everett Acuff on June 27, 1964, in West Frankfort. He died August 1992. Eva is survived by son: Arvie G. Dorris and wife Susan of West Frankfort; grandchildren: Robert Dorris and wife Angie of West Frankfort, Patricia Dorris Ray and husband Brett of West Frankfort, and Barbara Dorris Woolsey Ellis of West Frankfort; great-grandchildren: Brittany and Cody Dorris, Brandon Ray, Matthew Woolsey and Dewayne Ellis; great-great-grandchild: Lucas Woolsey and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; granddaughter Abbie Woolsey; granddaughter-in-law: Autumn Woolsey; brother Walter Evans and sister Osie Evans. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Varis-Stone Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Gene Fox officiating. Interment will be in Tower Heights Cemetery.
