Bennie McCreight, 83, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004.
Funeral: 4 p.m. Sunday at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial: Peoria Cemetery, Peoria.

BENNIE McCREIGHT
Mr. Bennie McCreight, 83, of Hillsboro died Friday February 20, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born March 28, 1920, in Woodbury, son of the late Joe Dewitt and Nettie Marie Sumner McCreight, where he grew up. He joined the Army during World War II and served in the European Theatre. After the Army he moved back to Texas. He married Nell Reynolds June 28, 1946, came back to Hill County in 1947 and had lived in the Hillsboro area ever since. For 35 years he worked at TU Electric. He was a member of Line Street Methodist Church of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by two brothers, DeWitt Sumner McCreight and Gary McCreight. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Kitchens of Conroe and Debra Moss of Lubbock; two brothers, Joe Tom McCreight of Fort Worth and Lloyd McCreight of Waco; one sister, Joyce Cain of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday February 22, 2004, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Reed Justus officiating. Burial was at Peoria Cemetery.
