She graduated from Delaware High School and was an employee of Ben Franklin Department Store in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was a life long resident of Nowata and a member of The Church of the Nazarene. Jewell was very involved in the church. Jewell enjoyed researching her family history. She loved studying and telling about her family. Jewell also enjoyed gardening and was an avid birdwatcher. She had deer, wild turkey, quail, and other wildlife on her property that she loved watching. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors of Jewell include a daughter and husband; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. King in death are her parents, John and Ruby Sarcoxie and her husband, William Stanley King.
Funeral Services for Jewell Dawn King are Thursday, 10:00 a.m., February 2, 2012 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel in Nowata, Oklahoma with Rev. Wayne Keely and Rev. C. Henry Murray officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
