She passed away Wednesday evening, January 4, 2012, in Tyler.
Hazel was born October 24, 1919, in Munson, Texas, the daughter of David Roscoe Butner and Etta June Maddox Butner. She was raised in Munson and graduated from Royse City High School. She had been employed by Tex-Lite Manufacturing and Standard Manufacturing, both in Dallas. Hazel lived in Oak Cliff for sixty years prior to moving to Canton in 2005. She enjoyed photography and loved her pets very much. She was a former secretary for the Local Steel Workers Union in Dallas. Hazel was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Vernon Butner, Burley Butner and David Wyatt Butner.
Hazel is survived by four nephews, Kenneth Butner, of Waxahachie, Bill Butner, of Ft. Worth, Jerry Butner, of Dallas and Dennis Butner, of Garland; niece, Shirley Lack, of Wills Point and other relatives and friends.
