Julia was the daughter of John A Wicker and Emaline "Emma" Diggs.

She married Peter T "Gus" Dunn in Freestone County, Texas on Feb 12, 1880.

She was the mother of 10 known children. Her first child, Eva, was born in Freestone County, Texas. All the children were born in Musquiz, Coaluila, Mexico after she and her husband moved there in 1881. Her children were Eva, Harvey, Ella, Hiram "Hig", Etta Mae, Anna, Horace "Tatcho", Ottie, Travis and Oscar "Tola" Dunn.

She was one of only 2 children. Her older sister was Nancy Attie Wicker Taylor (1859-1937).
