ROBINSON. -- John Warring Robinson, a son of Wm. E. and Sarah Robinson, was born in Fairfield County, S. C., December 28, 1837. When seventeen years old he joined the Methodist Church. The war came on, and when old enough he entered it and spent three years of faithful service for his country. While he performed his soldier duties the God in whom he trusted shielded him from danger; and when the war closed he returned to his home in Fairfield. Here he remained for a while and then moved to Arkansas. His faith remained steadfast in Jesus, and his strength as a worker grew. He filled many responsible offices in the Methodist Church, but the highest place filled by him was as a local preacher. As such he did acceptable work in Arkansas and also in Texas, where he died January 19, 1892, triumphing in faith in Jesus. Just before dying, he pointing upward, said to his wife: "I'm going home." May the God of comfort be the portion of the widowed mother and fatherless children, and bring them to heaven at last. M. W. H.
