BAIRD -- James R. Morgan, 84, of Clyde, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2004 at an Abilene hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Scranton Cemetery under the direction of Parker Funeral Home of Baird. Charles Annett will officiate.

He was born in Scranton, Texas April 18, 1919. He married Billie Joyce Browning in Baird in 1948. He owned and operated Morgan Feed Store during the late 1940's. He was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company as a field supervisor for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He has lived in Clyde since 1982. He was a four-year veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Infantry.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Joyce Morgan; two sons, Ron Morgan of Ruidosa, NM and Terry and his wife Judy Morgan of Scranton; one daughter, Carla Smith and husband James of Tuscola; and four grandsons, Jason, Jake, Jim Morgan and Nathan Chastain; one brother, Jake Morgan of Cisco; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
