Maxine Baune, 86, of Rochester, formerly of Glenwood and Wabasso, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Samaritan Bethany Homes in Rochester, where she resided for the last three years.

Services will be held Friday, Jan. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Parish Prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial contributions can be made to hospice or a charity of your choice.

Maxine Lefteau was born in St. Paul, on Nov. 14, 1925, to Frances (Pollack) and Louis Lefteau. Maxine attended grade school in St. Paul and Le Seuer, then Minneapolis Business College in St. Paul. She worked as an assistant, first in Chicago and then in Wabasso until her marriage to Arnold Baune on April 7, 1948. They farmed near Wabasso until retiring to their lake home in Glenwood, in 1984.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and was known for her great sense of humor and always available to tell a joke!

Maxine is survived by her five children, Jeanette (Bill) Rauch of Hendersonville, N.C., David (Brenda) Baune of Rochester, Thomas (Ginger) Baune of Willmar, Jeffrey Baune of Minneapolis, and Maureen Craft of Grand Meadow; grandchildren include, Jennifer, Shannon, Sarah, Brian, Kimberly, Ryan, Benjamin, Leah, Angie, Shane, Jorin, Kendra, Zachary and Matthew; as well as 18 great-grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister, her loving husband, Arnold, a son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Patricia, son-in-law, Douglas and granddaughter, Kristina.
