Carl Gustav Stobbe was born on 2 May 1852 at Rosainen, Kreis Marienwerder, Westpreußen, Preußen, Germany. He was the son of Wilhelm Stobbe & Christine Juhnke. Gustav married Caroline Schilke in 1880. The couple departed Germany from Bremen and arrived at the port of New York aboard the S.S. Habsburg on 2 Apr 1883. Gustav declared his intention to become a U.S. citizen on 4 Nov 1884 at Brown County, Wisconsin. He died on 29 Apr 1942 at Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin.
