Obit:
Sugar Grove-- Ralph Abbott has received word of
the death on July 16, 1963, of his cousin, Harland
E. Abbott, who resided at 2675 East 25th St.,Odessa,
Texas. The message said he had not been well for
the last two years, but had been about his duties
until the day before his death.

Mr. Abbott was born in Sugar Grove on Sept 1897,
a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Abbott. He
served as a sergeant with Company 1 of Warren
during World War I. He had been on business in
Odessa for many years, heading the Abbott and
Son Contracting Co.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice Moore Abbott; two
daughters and two sons; also several cousins in
this area.

The funeral and burial took place in Odessa.

25th,who died at his home today
after a lengthy illness.

Abbott was born in Sugar Grove,
Penn., in 1897. He was married
Sept.20,1922,in Stoneham, Penn.,
to Bernice Moore. Abbott came to
Odessa in 1959 from Midland.

Pallbearers are Tom Wood, Leon
Porter, Bill Head, Lynn Corbell,
Allan Wallace, and Tom Norris,
all of Odessa, and Bob Miller
of Terminal.

Survivors include his wife, two
sons, H. Eugene Abbott of Midland
and Richard E. Abbott of San Angelo;
two daughters, Mrs.John McLean of
New Orleans ,Louisiana,and Mrs.Lee
Holmes of Midland and nine grand-
children.
