Billy Gene Donald McCormick, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011, in Fort Worth.

He was born on September 7, 1931, in Madison County, Tennessee, to Noah Abraham and Jennie Callie McCormick. On March 10, 1972, he was united in marriage to Joan Williams in Durant, Oklahoma. Billy Gene was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He retired after twenty-three years of military service. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Joan McCormick of Fort Worth; son, Fred Briggs and his wife Susie of Fort Worth; daughter, Mary Gambill and her husband Louis of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Christy Lemons and her husband Aaron of Glen Rose; great-granddaughter Lilly Dawn Lemons of Glen Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis Arnold McCormick, Clifton Carl McCormick, and Rex L. McCormick; and one sister, Margaret Muriel McCormick.
