William Daniel Gobble, son of Emory A. and Martha E. {Chandler} Gobble, born 22 Nov 1892 at Blackwater, Virginia. On the 6 July 1923 at Blackwater he married Hattie Osborne, daughter of Elder Winfield S. and Elizabeth {Ausburn} Osborne at Blackwater. They had one son and later divorced. Daniel was a farmer, lived with his mother in the Back Valley of Blackwater, Lee Co., VA until she passed away in August 1926. Daniel was very well known locally as a bass singer. He was a veteran of U.S. Military. In the fall of 1927 Daniel was killed in an automobile accident while en route to West Virginia to get a job in the mines. He was laid to rest in the Osborne Family Cemetery located near the Blackwater High School Funeral arrangements were made by Senator Lloyd Robinette, who attended the service. by Nell Newman (#47359122)
