Marvin French, 76, of McLeansboro, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at McLeansboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 23, 1935 in McLeansboro, the son of Ebert and Monie (Odle) French. He was a farmer, and he loved farming and "the old days."

Surviving are two stepsons, Eugene Sisco and his wife, Tammy, of Carmi, and Deryl Sisco and his wife, Penny, of McLeansboro; four sisters, Sue Hart of Dahlgren, Janet Cox of McLeansboro, Janice Bridwell of McLeansboro and Dana Williams of McLeansboro; a brother, Ebert French and his wife, Shirley, of McLeansboro; a very special friend, Ima Dial; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 at Harre Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating, with burial in Ten Mile Cemetery west of McLeansboro.
