Mrs. Cox was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Liberty, Hamilton County, Texas, to George and Eula Belle Lanmon.
She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, in Brownwood, Texas. Funeral services for Edna Cox, age 99, of Bangs will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Maciariello officiating. Interment will follow in Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
She was married to A. K. Bullard on April 23, 1929, in Comanche, Texas, and they had two children; later she was married to Floyd Cox on Nov. 1, 1941 in Brownwood, Texas, and they had one child. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Cox and her husband Floyd spent many years in Big Spring, Texas, in their boot and shoe repair and leather goods shop. They retired to Lake Brownwood in 1984. Two of her nieces, Juanita Strohm and Clois Cox showed special love to her during her last years.
She is survived by her son, Knack Joshua Cox of Nashville, Tenn., and his son, Knack Shannon Cox. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law, Ella Bullard of Baird, Texas; grandchildren Ora Ramey, Curtis Bullard, Dina Cook, Patricia Tollett; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and sons J. M. Bullard and Curtis Glenn Bullard and by a grandson, Van K. Bullard. All of her brothers and sisters who preceded her in death were, Willie Myrtle Luman, Marvin Lanmon, Johnny Floyd Lanmon, Sarah Velma Winningham, Jewel (Pet) Bryson, Jessie Brady Lanmon and Edgar Allen Lanmon.
