Mrs. Mary Jane Reed
Mrs. Mary Jane Reed, a life-long resident of Dudley, passed away last evening, Sunday, December 8, 1946, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Yentch, whom she had been visiting, in West Reading.
She was born on April 13, 1877 in Six Mile run, a daughter of Samuel and Esther (Thomas) Buckley. She was united in marriage with James E. Reed who died this last May. He had been a coal miner and also engaged in the blacksmith trade in the Broad Top area.
Surviving to mourn her passing are the following children: Mrs. Jessie McKee, Huntingdon; Mrs. Stella Boyer, Camden, New Jersey; Edgar Reed and Virginia Buckhaltz, both of Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Janet Yentch, West Reading; Mrs. Martha Pelikan, Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey, and Mrs. Esther Huston, Fairfield, Connecticut. There are also four grandchildren. Two sisters also survive: Mrs. Martha Massey, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Loretta Aubend of Beaver falls.
Mrs. Reed was a member of the Methodist Church at Dudley.
The funeral service will be held in the Dudley Methodist Church at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, December 11. Burial will be made in the Dudley Cemetery. Friends may call at her late residence in Dudley on Tuesday evening. McClain funeral service Cassville.
