THE DAILY NEWS (HUNTINGDON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA), WEDNESDAY 22 MAY 1946, P. 6:

James E. Reed, a life long and highly respected resident of Dudley, passed away at his home on Monday evening, May 20, 1946. He enjoyed good health until several days ago when he suffered a heart attack from which he did not rally.

The son of Levi and Louisa (Cypher) reed, he was born on August 20, 1874. He was united in marriage on August 20, 1902, with Mary J. Buckley, who survives.

Mr. Reed leaves his wife and these children: Mrs. Jessie McKee, Huntingdon; Mrs. Stella Boyer, Camden, New Jersey; Edgar J. Reed and Virginia Buckhaltz, Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Janet Yentch, Reading; Mrs. Martha Pelikan, Ephraim, New Jersey; and Mrs. Esther Huston, Fairfield, Connecticut. There are also six sisters and one brother.

Mr. Reed engaged in coal mining and blacksmithing.

The funeral will be held Friday, conduct the funeral service in the Methodist Church in Dudley at 2 p.m. DST on Thursday. Interment will be in Dudley cemetery. Friends are being received at the late home. Wright funeral service.
