On Sunday, March 15, 1931, she was visited by her son, Charlie, and his family (his wife, Fannie, and their two daughters, Ruth and Mildred). Grandma Roderick had a sudden, massive stroke and collapsed. Charlie, my grandfather, picked her up and carried her to her bed, breaking two ribs in the process. She passed away the next day, Monday, March 16. She was buried on Wednesday, March 18. Her daughter, Rosie, was unable to attend the funeral because she gave birth to her daughter, Mary on the very same day.
