He was born in Lee County, Hartsville, S.C., to the late Hasten and Leila Bradley Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Crosby Jackson; two sons, Thomas and Hoover Jr.; a daughter, Denise; one brother, W. H. Jackson; and four sisters, Odessa Jackson, Onelus Glenn, Pastor Lizzie Poston and Leila Frances Gillespie.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Minister Helen Jackson; three daughters, Louise, Jasmyne and Janette, all of Shelby; and Eliz Garner of Clinton, Md. He also leaves three sons George, Willie and Darrell all of Shelby; a host of grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves one sister, whom he called mother, Mable Jackson Davis of Kings Mountain and in addition his church family and friends.
Elder Jackson received his formal education at Camp High School, Shelby. He was a former employee of Daniel Construction Company in Shelby and retired from Shelby Middle School, were he worked as a custodian.
Elder Jackson began his ministry in his home with Mother Spann over 60 years ago. He received his training under Bishop Samuel Martin, pastor of Miracle Temple Follow Peace Holiness Church of God . He pastored Howell's Temple, Shelby. He became an Elder within the Christian Fellowship Holiness Church of God. His last pastorate was St. Matthew Christian Fellowship Holiness Church of God until his death.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at Bethlehem Temple Church
