CARBONDALE -- Judith Novick, 63, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, in Danville, Calif. The cause was leukemia.

She is survived by her son, Darren of San Francisco; her brother, Stuart of Honolulu; her aunt, Elaine of Fort Myers, Fla.; and her extended family in Florida, Georgia, California, Ohio and Illinois.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in Beth Chaim Synagogue in Danville and at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, in the garden of Beth Jacob, in Murphysboro, where she will be buried next to her parents, Jehiel and Dorothy.

Judith was born Feb 15, 1948, in El Paso, Texas, to a military family and moved 11 times by the time she was a senior in high school. At that point, her father retired from the military and began a long career as a professor at Southern Illinois University. Judith then attended Southern Illinois University for her bachelor's, and received her MBA from St. Mary's of Moraga in 1984.

In her career, she worked as a logistics manager for several companies, as a product manager for Wells Fargo and a global marketing manager at Sun Microsystems.

She was a valued leader of Beth Chaim Congregation and also volunteered for Jewish Family and Children's Services, tutoring in English as a second language, and the Red Cross.
