Leola Bench Hines, 87, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, in Bowie, Texas.
Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at the Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church of Bowie with Father Kennedy officiating.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Leola was born December 10, 1923 to Lee and Annie (Boone) Bench in Bowie, Texas. She graduated from Bowie High School and went to work for Swift Packing Company in Fort Worth, Texas. Leola also worked for the Bridgeport Index Newspaper, and later in the medical records department at the State Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas until her retirement. Leola was an avid reader and is remembered with love and appreciation for her devoted years of life as a mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Annie Bench, and brother, Nathan Wiley "Bud" Bench.
Leola is survived by her son, John Medford; four grandchildren, April Angell and husband, Eddie of Bellevue, Clay Medford and wife, Shandi of Bowie, Chrissy Medford of Buffalo Springs, and Shea Medford of Quinton, GA; daughter-in-law, Pamela Sorensen of Buffalo Springs; seven great grandchildren, Cody Bodkin, Cassidy York, and Chrissy West all of Bellevue, Laythen and Sadie Medford of Bowie, Araya Nezat and Shae Lesando of Buffalo Springs.
