Winchester Evening Star April 2, 1962-

James Miller Wolfe, 65, of Clarke County, died yesterday in Winchester Memorial Hospital follwing a long illness.

He was born in Smith Couty, a son of Cecil W. Wolfe of Marion and the late Dora Delp Wolfe.

Mr. Wolfe was a member of the Duncan Memorial Methodist Church in Berryville. He was a member of the board of directors of the Northern Virginia Livestock Producers Assn. of which he wa vice-president for several years. He was also a member of the Virginia Hereford Assn. and the American Hereford Assn. and was considered an authority on Hereford cattle having managed one of the largest herds in the state, the Oliveboy Stock Farm, for many years.

In 1954 he was recognized by Cosgrove's Pure Bred Record of Des Moines, Iowa for his work with pure bred Hereford cattle both polled and horned. Aftr the sale of Oliveboy Farm he bought a small farm [Oak Shade] east of Berryville and continued raising purebred Herefords with a herd of 40.

Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Alice Elizabeth Blankenbecker; his father; five children, Cecil Price Wolfe of Berryville, Mrs. Herbert Cover of Freddericksburg, John T. Wolfe of this city, Mrs. Floyd Gibbs of Petersburg and Mrs. Edwin Arnold of Lucketts; three sisters, Mrs. Jim Rutherford of Roanoke, Mrs. Sally Ray of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Webb Spurrier of Cincinnatti, Ohio and three brothers, Douglas Wolfe of Scotts, N.C., Rex. H. Wolfe of Marion and William Wolfe of Marion.

The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the John H. Enders Funeral Home by the Rev. Earl I. Lewis pastor of Duncan Memorial Church.

Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
