Mr. Young was born March 14, 1928 in Clyde, Texas to Ross B. and Sarah Alice (Tate) Young.
He graduated from Clyde High School in 1945 and lettered in football.
He married Letha Browning December 6, 1952 in Midland.
He was a lifelong resident of Clyde and a member of First Baptist Church.
Mr. Young was the last living charter member of the Clyde's Lion's Club and served 20 years for the Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a talented carpenter an avid sports fan.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife Letha of Clyde; three daughters, Anita Jane Pirrello and husband Tony of Keller, Debbie Lynn Jones and husband David of Cottonwood, and Barbara Ann Wilson and husband Gregg of Abilene; one sister, Clara Cheek of Abilene; four grandchildren, Clint Watts and wife Carrie of Sugarland, Melissa Watts of Tomball, Aaron Young and wife Elizabeth of Clyde, Emily Wilson of Abilene and one great granddaughter Mya Marie Watts; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
