Richmond Times, Obituary. " Garthright, John W. at Newport News died yesterday morning at the Old Dominion Hospital. He was the son of the Late John W GARTHRIGHT. Sr. at Henrico. He lived in Richmond and Henrico all his life up to about seven years ago when he removed to Newport News. He leaves a widow and 3 children, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral notice later."
