In 1901 he graduated from Juniata College with B.E.; following he pursued some social work; he carried mail for five years; taught in public schools; and as of 1911 was principal of the Taylor Twp. High School in Blair County, PA. He published volumes of poems "Life in Verse" and "Life in Song - Vol. I"
