Deborah A. Birdsell, 49, of 349 N. Algona St., died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at home.

Services will be Thursday in Mission Hills, S.D., with burial in Mission Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral home, 2659 Kennedy Road.

She was born on Feb. 15, 1951, in Mission Hills, S.D., daughter of Delbert and Kathryn (Kennedy) Birdsell.

Following her education in Mission Hills, she entered the Air Force, retiring at Peterson Air Force, retiring at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado in 1992, as a Technical Sergeant, following 18 years of service. She had resided in Dubuque since 1992. She worked for Iowa Job Service for several years, and served as a commissioner on the Dubuque County Veterans Affairs Commission.

Surviving are a sister, Elizabeth (Max) Corey, of Dubuque; and three brothers, Ronald Swenson, of Brandon, S.D., Lloyd (Arlene) Swenson, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and William (Kathy) Birdsell, of Burlington.
