GEORGIA FAYE COLVIN OLIVER, age 87 of Manvel, Texas passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 at her residence. Georgia was born on January 29, 1924 in Humble, Texas and had been a resident of the Alvin/Manvel area for over 50 years. She was a devoted Christian who took great pride in taking care of her children and her home. Georgia is preceded in death by her husband William Colvin, Sr., son, David Colvin, parents, Robert and Georgie Staples, sister, Judy Truelove and two brothers Robert and Billy Staples.
Georgia is survived by her daughters, Beverley Thielen and husband John, Jackie Derrick and husband Marshall, sons, William Colvin, Jr., Robert Colvin, II, and wife Carol, Jeff Colvin and wife Marie and Glenn Colvin, 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Scott Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas with Pastor Tony Harris officiating.
