The 1900 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 6, Texas (Cooke County) shows Thomas A. Dorsey, age 8, born December 1891 in Texas; living with his father, John B. Dorsey, a farmer, age 34, born May 1866 in North Carolina; and his mother, Mollie J. Dorsey, age 33, born April l867 in Kentucky. Also living in the household were Thomas' siblings: Robert E. Dorsey, age 6, born December 1893; and Lillian R. Dorsey, age 3; born June 1896; both born in Texas.

Thomas married Nellie Bacon, who was born January 6, 1895 in Oklahoma.

The 1920 Federal Census for Albany, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Thomas Dorsey, a farmer, age 28, born in Texas; and his wife Nellie, age 25 a Native American born in Oklahoma. Living with them were two children: Edith Dorsey, age 2; and Lollie M. Dorsey, age 1; both Native Americans born in Oklahoma.

The 1930 Federal Census for Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Thomas Dorsey, a peanut factory employee, age 38, born in Texas; and his wife, Nellie, a Native American, age 35, born in Oklahoma. Living with them were six children, all Native Americans: Edith Dorsey, age 13; Lollie M. Dorsey, age 11; Gwendolyn Dorsey, age 9; J. T. Dorsey, age 7; Billie F. Dorsey, age 4 years 6 months; and Eulalia Dorsey, age 0; all born in Oklahoma.

Nellie died November 25, 1980 in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) and was buried there in the Highland Cemetery. Thomas died February 22, 1992 in Durant and was buried in Highland Cemetery beside his wife.
