Ervin Lester Bridge, 85, of Lomax, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. David Harp, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

He was born on April 15, 1926, in Tokio, Texas and married Virginia Phillips on July 20, 1948 in Brownfield, Texas.

Ervin had farmed in Yoakum and Howard County for 65 years.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Virginia Bridge of Lomax; a son and daughter-in-law, Mikel and Judy Bridge of Stanton; a daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra and Gary Whitehead of Nemo; four grandson; one granddaughter; two step grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Grace Bridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
