Bernice W. Dancy of Marks, 72, retired bank secretary at Citizens Bank & Trust in Marks, died Monday, March 13, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi at Oxford of heart failure.

Services were Wednesday, March 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Marks First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Wells officiating. Burial was in the Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home of Marks had charge of arrangements.

Born December 8, 1927, in Marks, Mrs. Dancy was a member of First Baptist Church of Marks and had served as interim church secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Laverne Dancy of Marks; two daughters, Cindy Bankston of Clarksdale and Carol Baker of Madison; two stepdaughters, Kathy Respress of Lambert and Jennifer Bailey of Crowder; three stepsons, Dan Dancy of Germantown, TN, Chris Dancy and Jonathan Dancy, both of Lambert; four sisters, Ethel Ferguson of Hernando, Rosa Brame of Greenville, Willie Mae Bowers of Montgomery, AL, and Dorothy Hackman of Charleston; two brothers, Boyd Worley of Marks and Theo Worley of Pine Bluff, AR; 20 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
