Harry Russell Johnson, Jr., of Marks, 77, died Thursday, November 24, 2005, at home of cancer.

Services were Sunday, November 27, at 2:00 p.m. at West Marks Baptist Church at Marks, with burial in the Marks Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Mims officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Born in Stuttgart, AR, on December 6, 1927, he was a retired MS State Correctional officer. He has also worked for International Harvester Company and Marks Tractor Company. Mr. Johnson served in the U. S. Navy Seabees in World War II and was a member of West Marks Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie Johnson of Marks; six daughters, Betty Ann McGee of Coldwater, Jeanne Faye Felts of Columbia, Elizabeth Avent of Lambert, Elaine Pipkin of Pope, LaWanda Johnson of Marks and Nelda Dean Isham of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Peggy White of Marks and Wanda Moore of Columbus; one brother, Don Johnson of Olive Branch; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
