A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Superior, Mrs. Hicks had been in ill health the past several years.
She was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Quanah, Texas, the daughter of Marshall and Nettie Watson. She attended schools in Texas.
She married Fred Duane Hicks on Oct. 14, 1933, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1978.
Mrs. Hicks was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Hicks, Victor H. Hicks and James Hicks; two daughters, Dorothy Mae Coscweld and Wanda Marie Hicks; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Beaulah; and one grandson.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway, Rock Springs. Father Carl Beavers will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 10 a.m.
Monday at the church. Interment will follow in the Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the rosary.
