Services for Joseph Appleton, 61, of 2536 NW 2, who died Monday in a city hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Appleton was born in Lufkin, Texas, and came to Oklahoma 40 years ago. He had lived in Oklahoma City for 25 years. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lena; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Rider, Blanchard; Mrs. Dona Locke, 2871 NW 63; Mrs. Hattie Jay, 3112 SW 27, and Mrs. Marie Edelman, Bell, Calif.; two sons, William E. Garman, 2523, Arvin, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Ester Shitchcraft, King Hill, Idaho; Mrs. Anna Holcomb, Crawfordville, Fla., and Mrs. Myrtle Wheeler, Wickett, Texas, and a brother, Claude, Kansas City, Kan.
Joe was the son of Thomas Henry & Rosella (Seale) Appleton, but was raised by Pleasant Shilling (his wife's uncle).
