Edith Elizabeth Ashenfelter, 81, of Center Street, Timberville died Sunday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital,where she had been a patient for the past week.

Mrs. Ashenfelter was born May 25,1905, at Cootes Store near Broadway and was a daughter of the late Calvin and Effie Jean Foltz Ritchie.

She was a member of Fulks Run Baptist Church.

On April 6, 1923, she married William Bryan Ashenfelter, who died Feb. 27,1956.

Surviving are two daughetrs, 1 with whom Mrs. Ashenfelter had lived the past seven years, and two sons, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway by the Rev. Barbara Rhodes.

Burial will be in the Linville Creek Cemetery near Broadway.

The family will receive friends 7-8p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributionscan be made to the Broadway Rescue Squad or the Rockingham Memorial Hospice Unit.
