"Ray was born November 22, 1932 in Cross Cut, Brown County, Texas, a daughter of Harland Ray Pittman and Chloe Edington Pittman. She grew up in Brown County and graduated from high school in Early. After living in California and Colorado, Ray moved to Coleman in 1972. She was a waitress and worked many years at Cold Water Cattle Company in Coleman.
"She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Ruth Spurlock of Nolensville, Tennessee; two sisters, Charlene Johnson of Edinburg, Texas and Joy McWilkerson of Paris, Texas; one half-sister, Judy Linville of Killeen; three grandchildren, Scott Spurlock and wife Brandy of Columbia, Tennessee, Jeffery Spurlock of Nolensville, Tennessee and Callie Strickland of Coleman; one great-granddaughter, Victoria Belle Spurlock.
"She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dena Lee Vinson in 2006 and by a sister, Edie Sprinkles.
"Family visitation will be held on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas."
