Billie Lee Polk, 94, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.

Billie was born on March 1, 1917 to Jim and Kate Miller of Hobart, Oklahoma.

Moving to Sharyland, Texas in 1929. She married David (McAllen, Texas) in 1937.

Billie and her husband lived in San Juan, Texas from 1945 until 1980 where they owned and operated Polk Food Store until they retired in 1972. She also worked as a Manager for H & R Block in Pharr, Texas for 12 years. They moved to Corpus Christi in 1999 to be near their son, John Polk. She was a member of Gardendale Baptist Church where she served as a co-counselor at the Service Center. She and David are now active members of Brighton Park Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, David Polk. Her sons: Jim Polk (Hazel), Dallas, Texas; John Polk (Joanne), Corpus Christi, Texas. Her grandson: Jimmy D. Polk, Dallas, Texas; granddaughter: Kim Polk Fisher, Dallas Texas and a great granddaughter: Presley Fisher, Dallas, Texas. As well as her sister and life time best friend, Mary Genenwein, Sun City, Texas.

A day never went by that the sisters did not speak. What a blessing.

She will be joining her following brothers and sisters in God's Kingdom: J.T. Miller (McAllen, Texas), John Miller (SanAntonio, Texas), Anna Kate Miller Bowman (Houston, Texas), Blanche Miller Wadlow (Sharyland, Texas) and Zelma Miller McLain (Sharyland, Texas).

The family will be having a Gravesite Service on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Seaside Memorial Park
