OBITUARY (Courtesy of Gene Brierly, Find a Grave Contributor 47132860)

Robert Paul Bird, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Bird, living six miles north of town, passed away January 23, 1911.

He was born November 21, 1909, and was one year, two months and two days old at the time of his death. He had been ailing most of his short life, but was a patient little sufferer throughout his illness. Besides the parents he leaves a little brother, eight years old, to mourn his departure.

Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. E. Scheer. The pall bearers were Lester Keim, Joe Hunter, Ernest Dean and Willie Specht, four little schoolmates of the baby's brother. Burial was made in the Sabetha cemetery.

The many friends and neighbors of the family sympathize with them in their bereavement.

"He is not dead, the child or our affection,
But gone into the realm above,
Where he no longer needs our poor protection,
For Christ himself hath welcomed him in love."
