Entered into rest on the morning of May 8, 1880, at 6:30 o'clock, Ameila Jane, wife of Maj. P. C. Hungerford, late of Westmorland County VA, aged forty-five years and three months. The funeral will take place this (Sunday) evening at 5 o'clock from the residence of her husband, 487 F street SW. Friends and family are invited to attend.

The funeral services of Mrs. Amelia J. Hungerford, wife of Maj. P. C. Hungerford, of Washington D.C. were conducted on Sunday afternoon, the 9th instant, by the Rev. Dr. Addison of Trinity Church. The remains were deposited in the vault at Congressional Cemetery. A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral. The pall-bearers were Hons. John Critcher, H. O. Claughton and J. Ormond Wilson, and Messrs. W. H. Minniy, J.C. Ergood and A. Middleton. Mrs. Hungerford was well and widely known for her untiring devotion to her family and friends, for her christian charity, and for her unbounded hospitality. her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew her
