David Leroy Petty (Eld.) was the son of Samuel and Texana Clements Petty. On June 5, 1917, he registered for the draft. He was killed in action in France in 1918. He served with the American Expeditionary Force(AEF).

David Leroy came from true sturdy, pioneer stock. He was Elder David Leroy Petty, being an Elder in the Church of Christ. How his religious beliefs fit with going to war would be an interesting conversation to have had with him. He died a hero so others might live. It makes one sad and proud at the same time.

Thank you, David.
