Mrs. Mary Ioma Clark of Shirleysburg, R.D., passed away Saturday, June 26, 1954, at 5 p.m. in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, where she had been a patient for four weeks.
The deceased was born December 31, 1879, in Pogue, Huntingdon County, a daughter of Joseph Fry and Mary (Waite) Chilcoat. She was united in marriage to Walker Jackson Clark of Juniata County April 16, 1903, in Huntingdon by the Rev. M. Black.
Mrs. Clark attended the Church of the Nazarene in Orbisonia. She was a graduate of the Rockhill Normal School and taught in the township schools of Huntingdon County for four years.
Her husband and these children survive: Forrest C. Clark of Orbisonia, R.D., Miles C. Clark of Hollidaysburg, R.D.; Mrs. Wilbur (Grace) Stapleton of Huntingdon, R. D. 1, Norman E. Clark of Mount Union, R.D.; Howard I. Clark of Shirleysburg, R.D.; Mrs. Matthew (Eva) Happle of Orbisonia; Robert C. Clark of Huntingdon, R.D. 1; and Miss Ruth Kathryn Clark of Polk. An infant son preceded her in death. One sister, Mrs. Hannah Gale of Lancaster, R.D.; one brother, George Chilcoat of Mount Union; 34 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 29 at 2 p.m. in the Orbisonia Nazarene Church. The Rev. George Wolfe, pastor to the church. officiated and burial was made in the Orbisonia Cemetery.
