Vernon, 69, of Marion, Michigan, formerly of Perry and Flint, passed away Saturday, at Mercy Hospital Cadillac.
A memorial service was held Friday, July 8th at the House of Prayer, Haslett with Pastor David Cokonougher officiating.
Vernon was the son of Vernon Edward and L. Madge (Hardy) Bailey. Vern was an experimental engineer with Buick Motors in Flint. He was a avid fisherman and hunter. As a younger man he enjoyed playing softball and could run like a "bolt of lightning". He was an excellent auto mechanic and after retiring, he opened his own garage in partnership with a friend.
Those who cherish his memory include: son, Jeffrey W. Bailey of Birch Run; grandson, Jacob Bailey of Grand Blanc; sisters and brothers, Betty (Dave) Bigford of Kentucky, Barbara (Tim) Eastman of Laingsburg, Gail (Sue) Bailey of Perry, Wanda (Mike) Pierce of Holt, Dennis (Connie) Bailey of East Lansing; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gary and Robert.
