Charles C. Phillips, 81, passed away on June 6, 2008 at his home in Idaho Falls.

He was born on July 17, 1926 in Santa Barbara, California to William Lee and Emma J. Poole Phillips. He attended school in Oklahoma and Barber College in San Diego, California. He married Eleanora Schock on June 30, 1947 in Elko, Nevada.

He served in the Navy in World War II and Korea. He was a Charter Member of Mission Valley VFW 3787 of San Diego, California, a VFW Life Member of 2146 of Idaho Falls for 60 years, a NRA Life Member of Black Mountain Optomist of California. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and reading. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Hope Lutheran Church, 2071 East 12th Street in Idaho Falls with Pastor Langdon Reinke, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. The burial will follow at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls. Military Rites are under the direction of the Bonneville Veterans Team. The family suggests that Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 810 Moran; Idaho Falls, ID 83401 or Hope Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
