ODESSA - Royce Clayton Mitchell, Sr., lost a seven-year battle with Parkinson's on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at his home. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the Odessa Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Royce was born Nov. 15, 1932 in Sabano, Eastland County, to Emmett and Josie Mitchell. He attended school in Cisco and retired in 1992 as an Area Manager with a National Pawnshop Chain.
Royce is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Royce C. Mitchell, Jr.; a daughter, Marla Kay Cranson, all of Odessa; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Royce is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joe D. and Vada Mitchell of Abilene; two sisters, Midge Greene of Fort Worth, Dean Morris of Granbury; and many friends in the Big Country area.
